The Bots of Doing Business

If anyone has checked our Spotify page over the past few days, they would have noticed that “Waiting and Hoping and Knowing” has received almost 3,000 plays and we are suddenly up to over 1,000 monthly listeners. No one panic. We have held off on buying our Ferraris. I will eat my bass if these are actual listeners streaming our music. More than likely, through no evil machinations of our own, these are fake, boosted plays by bots. I've included the graph for our listens on Spotify For Artists for “Waiting…

With Boggs As My Witness

It's hard to beat a show on a pretty day. Nice little false spring before the cold, rainy miasma of this week. A big thank you to everyone who came out and, at worst, applauded with great politeness. The food was good, the beer was cold, and we always love playing at Boggs. We had some new billmates this time, Babosa and Static Dogs. Babosa did wonderful with some really interesting covers and originals. They have a great soul-influenced sound, and as a bass player, I always love seeing a guitarist that…

This, The Moment

The wait is over. Cannot tell you how sweet it is to finally have the sword of Damocles out of our Google Drive and into the world.

Our album, What A Waste, is out on all major streaming platforms, and we couldn't be happier. Many of these songs we have played time and time again - refining them, testing their limits, screaming over them - and now they're out in all their ragged glory for the world to hear. I think I speak for everyone in The Midday Skip in saying that none of this would have happened…

Fake Blood On My Sandals

Been a busy week here at Midday HQ (the living room of my apartment). For those who missed them, we played two shows this past week, one at a private Halloween party with our friends, Terrazzo, and another at 529 with other friends of The Skip, Fly-By Drivers and Superjaw. Both shows went well, everybody was chill, and we want to thank those who came out for making it such a blast.

Terrazzo, as usual, brought the thunder and the fury. They played a nice mix of songs old and new, and I'm always struck by…

Dont F-word This Up

Through fits and starts and misfires, the first single is nigh upon us. We are excited to share “Blood On My Sandals” with the world and disappoint all of our grandparents in the process. My parents already refer to it as “the song with the f word in it a bunch,” so, Mom, Dad, please don't read the rest of the lyrics. This is probably our favorite song as a group because it is so fun to play live, and it's unlike anything else we play. The song is this tight, pop-funk number that lets us put our sunglasses…

We Just Do What We Have To Do

The album slouches towards Bethlehem, and a single should be out in the next month or so. It's still late summer don't fight me. Circumstances beyond his control forced the excellent Alex Gibson, who is mixing the album, to move out of state, causing some understandable but depressing delays. I am pleased to announce here that “Blood On My Sandals” has been sent off to mixing and will be the first single out. A crowd favorite, we are excited to share with everyone what Alex has wrung out of it. More on the…

In Bogg's We Trust

Thank you so much to everyone for coming out to our show at Bogg's Social and Supply this past Saturday. Boxman and Fly-By Drivers both did well, and on top of being great musicians, they're all cool people. Everyone working at Bogg's that night was also kind as they always are, and we cannot thank them enough for being so professional and amicable. For those who have not been, it is a unique venue in west Atlanta that hosts a full range of bands and shows. They have a full stage, sound system, and…

What a Waste on Impatience

We are ecstatic to have a new album, What a Waste, releasing soon. If it were up to us, we would be sharing the raw mixes as we get them, but there's always more to fix. We recorded it over four sessions just about every other Sunday beginning March 17th and ending May 3rd. Sessions generally went from 9am to 9pm with judicious breaks as needed. This was done at the home studio of Alex Gibson, who was a huge help in making the album what it is. Truthfully, I did not know we could sound so good. We recorded…
